Why READ everyday
Chevonne's early experiences will influence her language development and her ability to learn to read and write in the future. Children learn to read, talk and write by interacting with their parents and others, listening to stories, looking at books and drawing.

Busy toddlers like Chevonne enjoy books that they know well. They love to be involved in predicting and anticipating what will come next.

If you speak a language other than English, read to your child in your first language. It will help them develop language skills and understanding of their culture.
